What you need to know about the National Broadband Network (NBN). Why is the government rolling out the NBN?The National Broadband Network (NBN) will provide 93% of Australian homes, schools and workplaces in urban and regional towns with high-speed internet and phone access to optical fibre*. This will give people across Australia better access to services such as eHealth and streaming TV, along with many other internet-based services.At the end of the transition period, your telecommunications provider has a regulatory obligation to disconnect the traditional copper wire network from your home. This means that if you wish to continue to make phone calls or use the internet through a landline service, you’ll need to be connected to the NBN.We want to make sure that you and your family are secure and protected through and beyond the transition. When you connected to the NBN, call one of our helpful team on 1300 367 233 to make sure your system is operating as it should.When the NBN comes to your area please call Alarm Innovations and we will guide you though what you need to do so we can continue to monitor you throughout the transition period so you can protect what’s most precious to you.When the NBN fibre network is available at your location, you’ll have an 18-month transition period in which to select your NBN services from any of the many Retail Service Providers (RSPs) operating in your region. At the end of the transition period, if you wish to continue to make phone calls or use the internet through a landline service (not via a wireless service such as mobile telephone or internet) you’ll need to be connected to the NBN.
